3 Ways to refresh your kitchen for autumn

3 ways to refresh your kitchen for autumn

As we look ahead to colder months and shorter days it’s time to embrace the season of moving back indoors and making the most of time spent at home. Often considered the heart of the home, the kitchen is where we spend a lot of our time cooking, catching up over a pot of tea, and enjoying meals around the dining table. So, why not spruce it up with a few seasonal touches to help ease into the new season?

1. Declutter & update accessories

Take the start of a new season as the ideal opportunity to streamline your kitchen cupboards and donate any unwanted items, including in-date food to food banks. A decluttered kitchen will give you more space to make the most of and room to add new touches to refresh.

Keep cupboards and countertops tidy with useful storage solutions. Our Wrendale Designs kitchen storage jars are not only practical but adorable too. Made from fine bone china, use them to store tea, coffee and sugar or even foods like lentils, cous cous and stock cubes. There’s also a tall storage jar perfect for housing spaghetti, a biscuit barrel to store sweet treats and a matching utensil jar for keeping kitchen tools handy.

For a simple update, switch out old kitchen textiles for something new. Keep the summer florals blooming a little longer with the colourful flowers of Botanic Garden or introduce autumnal colours into your space with the Botanic Garden Harmony textiles. Choose from a tea towel, oven gloves and apron – or update all three!

2. Switch out your tableware

Our favourite way to embrace a new season is to switch out our crockery, it’s such a simple way to effectively refresh your surroundings with minimal effort. The warming tones of our Botanic Garden Harmony collection are perfect for autumn. Choose from amber, moss, stone and forest green (or mix and match altogether) across dinner plates, side plates and pasta bowls.

Embracing autumnal colours creates the perfect warming, homely atmosphere. There’s also bakeware to match featuring Botanic Garden’s iconic butterfly motifs – perfect for cosy weekends baking with the little ones.

For a simpler update, refresh your mug collection with a few seasonal switches. Our new Mug Meirion collection has something for everyone and every occasion, including two Halloween-inspired mugs perfect for pumpkin spiced latte season.

3. Fragrance your space with a seasonal scent

Switch out the floral notes lingering from summer for something a little cosier. Candles and diffusers create the perfect setting for cosy rainy days or relaxing nights and are ideal for transitioning your space through the colder seasons.

Welcome in autumn with the indulgent scents of Sara Miller London home fragrance. The Chelsea collection sandalwood, cardamom and oudwood candle and reed diffuser will fill your home with fresh notes of spicy cardamom, sweet orange blossom and mellow amber, while the mandarin, tuberose and wild musk scent blends fruity overtones with sensuous wild musk. Fragrances to transport your senses.
