October sees the launch of a new book about Portmeirion published by The
Antique Collectors Club, which is lavishly illustrated with many previously
unpublished and rare photographs, plans and drawings, and published to
celebrate the 80th anniversary of the opening of Portmeirion village.
This
is the first book to concentrate on all aspects of Portmeirion, the village,
the gardens and the pottery.
A Program about Portmeirion previewed at the Book Launch on 12th October is scheduled to be on Television on BBC2W on the 7th December at 7.30.
With a foreword by Jools Holland, a long-time admirer of Clough
Williams-Ellis work, the book also features a chapter by renowned travel
writer and journalist Jan Morris, as well as Alwyn W Turner, Robin Llywelyn
and garden writer Stephen Lacy.
A section of the book written by Mark
Eastment in conjunction with Portmeirion Potteries details the long history
of the association between the pottery company and Portmeirion village and other collectable designs, old and new.
