Portmeirion Group PLC today announces that it has finalised the contract for the lease of a new warehouse and distribution centre.

The new warehouse will be 60,000 sq.ft. and located in Stoke-on-Trent, close to the existing manufacturing site. Construction will start early in 2006 for completion by the Autumn. It is planned that the new warehouse will be fully operational by early 2007, replacing the two existing warehouse sites in Stoke-on-Trent.

The new warehouse will be fitted with modern handling equipment and will be able to warehouse and distribute increased volumes of both UK manufactured and imported goods. It will significantly improve the quality and flexibility of service that we are able to provide to our retail customers.

This is an important further step in the modernisation and repositioning of the Company and will, when the new warehouse is operational, allow the sale of one of the existing warehouse sites, the freehold of which is held by the Group.
