Kriss Akabusi visits The Potteries
On Thursday 28th September Kriss Akabusi, the 400m Olympic Gold Medalist,
came to Stoke on a whistle-stop tour of The Potteries to present certificates
to achievers of learning under The University on the Shop Floor project.
Kriss presented to almost 50 Portmeirion achievers for courses such as the European Driving Licence, Maths and English. Everyone who attended were bowled over by Kriss's enthusiasm for learning and his passion for self improvement. In addition, Kriss also received an unexpected gift, as he was presented a framed portrait drawn by one of our employees, Antony Southall. The event showed Portmeirion's clear commitment to supporting the learning and development of our people and was also promoted through interviews with Radio Stoke and The Sentinel.
